Ural Owl
Strix uralensis
Female Ural owls defend their nests and the young that have left the nest. Ural owls present a warning by snapping their beak and making a low-pitched growling sound. If these warnings have no effect, the female knocks its claws on the predator. Ural owls consider humans a threat, so it is best not to go near their nests or their young.
Conservation status
LC stands for “least concern.” The species is well-known, and the population is abundant or stable.
